November is Upon Us

Parents! November is here and you know what that means? Well your first grade students know!! It is the month we get to meet Ebeneezer Squeezer and Slytherin!

So I sent home a letter that needs to be signed in order for your child to be able to hold one of them!

Today for science, we worked on testing candy from Halloween! Did it sink or float? We had skittles, m&ms, reese's peanut butter cups, and some floated, some sank, and others changed the color of our water!

Math

We are working on finishing up our  missing numbers using story problems. We are going to be moving into teen numbers and learning how to count faster by grouping our numbers and counting on!

Science

We are finishing up our animal unit, and we will be moving into a weather unit! I am excited for this as this is one of my favorite units ever!

Social Studies

It is Thanksgiving, so we are working on Native Americans, Pilgrims and the first Thanksgiving! The students are learning a great ton of details about pilgrims and it is so fun to listen to their engaging discussions!

Thanks for coming to the conferences!!
