Thank you for continuing to send in your child with snow pants, hats, gloves/mittens, boots and winter jackets! It is getting cold out there and I appreciate that they are all dressed warm!
Good news--NEXT WEEK IS CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK! The students are super excited and can't wait to dress up each and every day!
On Monday: "We Think Jesus Rocks" Dress as a rock star this day! We also have the leukemia hop in the morning.
On Tuesday: "Jesus is Our Ringmaster" Dress as though you are part of a circus! Family night at Funset Boulevard from 4:00pm-7:00pm! I can't wait to see you all there!
On Wednesday: "Jesus is Calling Us To Read" Dress as your favorite Disney character today! We will be reading in the gym in the afternoon!
On Thursday: "Jesus Makes Everything Fun" Dress in St. Edward clothing! We have a field trip to Luv2Play from 10:00am-1:00pm.
On Friday: Grandparents Day! Dress your best today! Mass at 8:15, book fair and bingo! This is an early release day at 11:00am! No aftercare!
Today on January 21, we focused on Martin Luther King Jr. and were so excited and eager and had A LOT of questions! I hope they come home today and discuss with you with you all the wonders we have learned from Martin Luther King Jr.
Math:
We are finishing up our math unit on adding with 100 using a 100's chart! Next math unit we are working on is looking at graphs and how to interpret the data and ask questions about the graph we are looking at.
Here are some pictures of the kiddos playing our "Race to a Hundred game"-A simple math game you can do with your child at home! All you need is a dice, paper and one pencil!
Language Arts:
We are working on adjectives in our writing and focusing on how to find them. We have mastered nouns and verbs! We are also working in small groups to help focus on unique spelling patterns in our reading and writing! I have 5 groups--I am so proud of them!
Reading:
Please continue to read daily with your child! I have seem some EXTREME improvements in the last 2 weeks in regards to their reading and comprehension of texts, along with an increase in fluency using the punctuation cues!
Science:
We are finishing up solids, liquids and gases unit!
Social Studies:
We are still working on communities!
Religion:
We are working on memorizing our prayers! We continue to read out of the Bible about the stories that we hear in our daily reading!
